Suzanne is a nationally renowned artist and contemporary quilter whose unique fiber art has brought her international acclaim. Her latest works in Needle Punch Felting is featured in Issue #27 of Through The Needle. To create her framed fiber art, art quilts and landscape quilts she begins by hand-dyeing and painting her own fabrics. She constructs her pictures using a layering technique similar to a collage. Employing a variety of methods, including free motion thread painting and decorative threads, she adds the detail and dimension to the work. In addtion to fiber art gallery work Suzanne is known for her creative batik fabrics and Japanese wax work on silk. Suzanne is also known as a expert quilting and fiber art teacher with her own line of patterns.
Suzanne's work is included in the Nissan Chemical Corporation collection, Japan, and is in private collections throughout the United States and South Africa. Her work has hung at the St. Louis Artist Guild, The Old Courthouse Gallery in Rolla, MO, The Pioneer Museum in Colorado Springs, CO, and the Colorado State Capital. By invitation of the First Lady of Missouri she held a one-woman show in the Governor's Mansion in April of 2000. Suzanne is currently on staff at the Eureka Springs School of the Arts and travels extensively teaching her techniques.
